When you’ve been involved in a toxic relationship, your brain will always choose familiar chaos over unfamiliar peace — until you teach it something new. That’s exactly what Thoughts to Live By™, Do Not Let Them™, SNAP!™, and The High 4 Habit™ do. They rewire your brain, one choice at a time, so peace becomes your new normal.

Why I Became A Narcissism Expert

I grew up thinking divorce was part of my story— not narcissism. My parents divorced when I was six. They remarried when I was eight. Like so many kids, I adapted. I learned the silent rules. The unspoken expectations. How to keep the peace. Then, in 1998, after giving birth to my son, something inside me cracked open. Holding him in my arms, I felt a kind of love I had never experienced before—pure, unconditional, steady. The kind of love that doesn’t make you earn it. And that’s when I started noticing something unsettling. My bond with my mother didn’t feel like this. It felt like control. Like obligation. Like something I had to manage instead of something I could trust. And for the first time, I couldn’t push it away. So I went to a psychiatrist, hoping for answers. And she asked me one question that changed everything: “Bridgette, have you ever heard the word narcissism?” I hadn’t. But in that moment, everything clicked. The guilt. The constant walking on eggshells. The way I had spent my life making sure I didn’t upset 'them'—whoever 'them' was in my world. It was both devastating and a relief to finally have a name for what I had lived through. But here’s what I know now: Naming it isn’t enough. You can name it and still be stuck in it. You can see it and still not know how to break free. You can think you’ve healed—until it shows up again in your own relationships. That day, I made a promise: I would break this cycle. I would learn how to deal with narcissistic people without losing myself. I would raise a child who felt seen, heard, and safe. I would not let narcissism define my future—or his. And I never looked back.

The Path to Becoming a Leading Narcissism Expert

I didn’t just want to understand narcissism — I needed to know how to take control and end the generational cycle for good. I trained with Dr. Karyl McBride, the leading expert in narcissistic family systems, where I learned how deeply these patterns run and how they pass silently from generation to generation. I studied the neuroscience of trauma and recovery with Dr. Daniel Amen, becoming a Certified Brain Health Coach and diving into how narcissistic abuse literally rewires the brain, keeping survivors stuck in cycles of self-doubt, confusion, and survival mode. Through my research, I developed a cognitive disruption method designed to break cognitive dissonance in real time— a critical breakthrough for anyone caught in the fog of narcissistic abuse. Today, that method — including SNAP!™, The High 4 Habit™, Do Not Let Them™, and LUV Heals™ — has helped over 20,000 people break free, reclaim their sense of self, and rewrite their story. I’m honored to have been featured in Psychology Today, Good Day Atlanta, 11Alive News, and Best Self Atlanta Magazine’s “Over 40 & Fabulous — Making a Difference” feature. We are breaking generational patterns—and my clients and I are living proof.

Why I Do This Work

Narcissistic abuse can happen to anyone —you don’t choose it, it chooses you. But the real damage? It doesn’t just hurt —it rewires you. It changes how you see yourself, your relationships, and your future. It traps you in self-doubt, over-explaining, and anxiety until you don’t even trust your own instincts anymore. And here’s the truth —one day stuck in that cycle is one day too long. It drains your confidence, your energy, and your sense of who you are. But I want you to know — you can get your peace back faster than you think. I do this work because I know exactly what it feels like to wake up and realize how much of your life you’ve spent surviving someone else’s chaos. And I know exactly what it takes to step out of that fog and into the life you actually want. I believe that when people feel seen, heard, and validated, they heal. Helping people trust themselves again and finally put themselves first isn’t just my job —it’s my calling.
